4.      Describe a situation where a character made a choice and explain why you think the character did this?  Explain why you think the author put this in.

5.      Keep track of your inner voice while you are reading.  Did you use your reciting or conversation voice?  What thoughts did you have?  If you used your reciting voice, how were you able to understand what you were reading?

6.      List any examples of literary devices the author may have used in your reading.  Tell what kind of literary device it is (ex. metaphor, simile, idiom, or alliteration) and explain what it shows. 

7.      In your own words, write a summary of the section you just read.  Include a topic sentence and three main points in your summary.  Remember to use transitions (counts) to connect your ideas.
